Hi, we went through the notes in music in the previous lesson and in this lesson I am going to throw some light on the Guitar fret with notes in music. I am referring the 6 string Guitar here. The thinnest string is the first string (#1 in picture) and sixth string is the thickest one (#6 in picture). Take a look at the picture; we have the Guitar fret and the notes written on it. I believe this will help you a lot to create the base to play guitar.
We have a standardised tuning in the Guitar. The tuning of Guitar goes like this:
E for the sixth string
A for the fifth string
D for the fourth string
G for the third string
B for the second string
e for the first string
Please refer to the picture for clarification.
That means if we don’t press any note on the 6th string and play it openly the E note will be played and the same way on the second string B note will be played and so on…
As we read about the notes in the previous lesson, the order of the notes is - A, A#/Bb, B, C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G, G#/Ab and then A again.
On the first string (#1 in picture) e the next notes will be F, F#, G, G# and so on…
On the second string (#2 in picture) B the next notes will be C, C#, D, D# and so on…
On the third string (#3 in picture) G the next notes will be G#, A, A#, B, C and so on…
On the fourth string (#4 in picture) D the next notes will be D#, E, F, F#, G and so on…
On the fifth string (#5 in picture) A the next notes will be A#, B, C, C#, D, D# and so on…
On the sixth string (#6 in picture) E the next notes will be F, F#, G, G#, A, A# and so on…
This is how we make the block diagram of the Guitar Fret.
I know it might be confusing if you are newbie but don’t worry I am working on the free video lessons and will upload soon so stay tuned…

Meditation is defined as the technique to focus our mind on a single point but till the time we don’t have that single point in our mind we can never meditate and very few people in this world know how to meditate. You can get a lot of articles about meditation on the web but reading and practicing are two different processes. It is very hard to practice the meditation.
According to different scriptures music is an art whose destination and the source is our soul and it has a deep relationship with our mind. Our taste in the music illuminates our essentiality. Music is of different types like (Pop, Rock, Blues, Country, Rap, Classical, Indian classical and so on) and every type has its own nature. This is the reason different people like different kind of music and it clearly defines the essentiality of people.
If we know how to play music we can meditate through the music as every note in music has its own nature and we can focus on the nature of the notes. This will help us to relate our mind with ourselves and we will definitely feel relaxed after playing music.
Any feeling we have can be expressed through music. Artists can play songs of aggression and peace at the same time as they know how to play with their feelings through music but to be on that state we need a lot of practice and patience.
Music can change our life but we just need to practice and feel the real essence of music.

In this lesson we will go through the notes in music. If you are new to music please make sure you understand this lesson as it is the base of music. You might have to read this lessons 10 times but make sure you do understand the basics of notes in music.
So what are the Notes???
Notes are universal standardized sounds produced by playing any instrument.
There are seven notes in the music and they are represented by the first seven alphabets.
A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.
Every note has its half note except B and E. Now what is half note? The half notes are denoted by the symbols (#) sharp and (b) flat and they are called as Enharmonic notes. For example A’s half note is A# and C’s half note is C# and so on.
B#/Cb and E#/Fb don’t exist.
So the notes in the music using (#)sharp as a half note are - A, A#, B, C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G# and the notes in the music using (b)flat as a half note are - A, Bb, B, C, Cb, D ,Db , E, F, Gb, G, Ab.
There is no difference in A# and Bb and C# and Db, as they are the different names of the same note and so on.
So the notes in the music are - A, A#/Bb, B, C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G, G#/Ab.
There are twelve notes in music which includes half notes as well. These notes go chromatically in any musical instrument.

Today I am going to start the series of Guitar Lessons and if you are a newbie then you have reached the right place as in this lesson we are going to learn different parts of Guitar and what the use is. I have created the picture below to explain it better however I will be posting video lessons too for better and interactive lessons. I will be sharing all my knowledge and experience about Guitar Notes, Scales, Strumming, Modes, Chords and many much more but that is a bit technical so first we need to know how guitar works. Here we go!!!

In the above picture we have a Guitar and you will find the explanation below about the different parts of the guitar.
1. Tuning keys - Tuning key is the part of Guitar and this is used to tighten or loosen the string to tune the Guitar, I will be uploading an online Guitar tuner very soon so stay updated.
2. Bridges - Bridges are used to hold the strings on the Guitar. We have two bridges in the Guitar. First bridge is on the body of the Guitar and second bridge is on the starting point of fret board, check out number 2 in the picture above.
3. Fret - Frets are used to individuate the tone of the notes. We can get the Guitar without fret as well but to play that we should recognize the tone of different notes.
4. Body - Body of the Guitar is used to originate the echo of the sound produced by the vibrations of the strings.
5. Sound Hole - Sound Hole is the hole in the Guitar from where we hear the sound. Some Guitars have cuts in the body to dispense the sound; the sound actually differs depending on the sound-hole shape and width of the Body.
6. Strings - When we strike the string it vibrates and the sound goes in the body to originate the echo and we hear that enchanting sound. Normally we have Guitars with six strings but people play twelve string Guitars as well. Base Guitars have only four strings. It depends on the different categories of the Guitars like Base Guitars, Western Classical Guitars, Spanish Guitars etc.
7. Plectrum - Plectrum is used to strike the string to produce the sound however we can use our fingers too but that depends on the type of music and strings you are playing.

Music is an art of sound in time that expresses the emotions and the feelings of a person who plays the music. It has the great effect on the ambiance where it is being played. It is the combination of the beats and the notes.
There are different kinds of beats and the percussion instruments depending upon the culture and the nature of the music. There are seven main notes in music. Notes are different sounds with different tones. When we combine notes and the percussion it produces the music.
We have numerous instruments in the world and every instrument has its own nature. Till the time we are not familiar with the nature of the instrument we cannot play that instrument. There are natural and artificial instruments in the world. The smoothness of the natural instruments is much higher than the artificial instruments.
I have seen a lot of people playing music but that is all with semblance. Very less people play music from their heart and soul and the people who play, are the legends. Its very easy to play any instrument but to play it with completeness is very difficult.
Music is every where in this world. Listen to - the chirp of bird, the sound of water drops in the bucket, the blowing breeze. This is music. The Music of heart and soul.
Its the combination of the harmony, melody and the rhythm….
