Music My Life | Leave a Comment | Share This
When I was 15, I went to the music shop to buy the drums but I was short of money so I bought the Guitar. As it was new I played it a couple of times but my dream was to play the percussion. I started learning it from one of the professional music schools in India but it was not my interest to play the Guitar.
One day I was sitting alone and practicing on the Guitar, suddenly I played lead of one song and that was the first time I played it with interest. I started learning it with a bit interest and I realized that the school from where I was learning was just for making money. I started searching for the teacher who can teach me from the heart as the source and the destination of the music is our soul.
After three years I met Mr. Lalit who is a wonderful player and a teacher. After meeting him I actually found what I was looking for – “A teacher with values”. I joined his classes and he was the only one who taught me about the nature of the notes and what is real music.
First I learned to play the notes and then playing with the notes. I started with Pop Music and played it for one year then I switched to the Rock Music like (Metallica, Puddle of Mud, Slipknot, limp-bizkit, Pink Floyd, Doors etc.) now I am completely into the Blues and Country like (BB king, Eric Clapton, Johnny Cash, Elton John etc.).
I performed with many bands in India but the serenity was nowhere. I thought to stand alone with my music but I couldn’t. Then I thought for whom am I doing this? I got the answer and decided for not to make it my profession as my music was slumping day by day just in the worries to make it my profession.
I decided to teach music for free as my motive was to stay in touch with music. One day my students came for the class, they sat with me and went back to their places but I didn’t notice that as I was completely indulged into the music and experiencing the serenity. That day I realized that I can play music. The desire was not showing somebody but experiencing the nirvana. I was habituated to that feeling of eternity and I used to play music for eight hours in a day. After sometime I learned romancing with nature through music and I love this feeling.
Now I can say that Music is me, my soul, my life and my world….
